Uzbekistan discloses number of enterprises created in healthcare sector in 2020

Some 1,475 new enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan in 2020 in the field of healthcare and social services, Trend reports referring to the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In general, the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in this area as of January 1 amounts to 9,145 enterprises.

The region with the largest number of newly created enterprises and organizations in the field of health care and social services in 2020 was Tashkent – 281 enterprises. It is followed by Andijan, Fergana and Samarkand regions, 150, 145 and 136 enterprises, respectively.

In the structure of operating enterprises and organizations in the service sector by type of economic activity, as of December 1, 2020, only 2.9 percent belongs to healthcare and social security.

Earlier it was reported that the number of enterprises in all regions of the country increased by 77,064 in 2020, and now stands at 475,197.

It was noted that almost a third of all enterprises and organizations registered in Uzbekistan are located in Tashkent and Tashkent region. The largest share, namely 20.2 percent, belongs directly to the city of Tashkent. The smallest share belongs to the Syrdarya region - 3.3 percent.

The committee reports that that last year the most popular sectors were agriculture, forestry and fisheries, as well as trade. Their number grew by 40.6 percent and 30.8 percent, respectively. Other activities, such as construction and transportation and storage showed the smallest growth at 13.1 percent and 12.6 percent, respectively.
