Uzbekistan and South Korea discussed issues of further intensifying cooperation in the field of research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo news agency.
The mentioned issue was discussed during a meeting between the Uzbek Embassy in South Korea with representatives of the South Korea aerospace research institute (KARI) and SI Imaging Services.
The parties noted the positive dynamics of the consistent development of cooperation between countries in this direction despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It is reported that several rounds of negotiations were held between specialists from the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies of S. Korea, the South Korean Institute of Aerospace Research (KARI), as well as the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan and Uzbekcosmos Agency for Space Research and Technologies.
According to the information, a joint Uzbek-South Korean working group has been formed to implement joint projects in this area. Also, the S. Korean side noted an interest in further intensifying interaction and exchange of experience.
Moreover, an agreement was reached to hold in the near future a video conference between the relevant specialists of the joint working group on cooperation in the field of research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes in order to clarify the issues of current interaction and determine further prospects for the development of cooperation.
