Uzbekistan reveals total assets and liabilities of its banks for 3M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 449.5 trillion soums ($40.3 billion) from January through March 2022, which is an increase of 21 percent compared to the same period last year (371.3 trillion soums or $33.3 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

From January through March 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 364.7 trillion soums ($32.7 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 84.7 trillion soums ($7.6 billion).

The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 21.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (310.7 trillion soums, or $27.9 billion), reaching 377.2 trillion soums ($33.8 billion).

During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 306.1 trillion soums ($27.5 billion).At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 71 trillion soums ($6.4 billion).
