BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29. The activity of rail transport in Uzbekistan increased from January through June 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC (Uzbekistan Railways) transported 4.39 million passengers, which is 12 percent more than in the first half of 2021.
At the same time, Uzbekistan's trains transported a total of 35.9 million tons of cargo. This is 1.9 percent more than in the same period last year.
Large investments are being made in the formation of a modern transport infrastructure in Uzbekistan, which contributes both to the comprehensive development of the regions and to the economic prosperity of the country as a whole.
