TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 8. Uzbekistan imported beverages and tobacco worth $75.4 million from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this indicator shows a 62.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year ($46.3 million in January–April 2023).
The beverages amount to $52.7 million from January through April 2024, which is more than 69.4 percent year-on-year ($31.1 million in January–April 2023).
At the same time, the volume of tobacco exports reached $22.7 million during this period. This figure is 48.3 percent more than the same period of the previous year ($15.3 million in January–April 2023).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of imports amounted to $12.3 billion from January through April 2024. This figure has increased by 3.3 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($11.9 billion in January–April 2023).
In the structure of imports, machinery and transportation equipment account for 36.8 percent, industrial goods for 15.9 percent, and chemicals and similar products for 12.4 percent.
