German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Sunday voiced his country's readiness for new round of talks with Iran in the context of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany.

'Our readiness for talks persist,' Westerwelle was quoted saying in a statement, IRNA reported.

He reiterated the G5 plus 1 was still seeking a 'diplomatic solution.'

Westerwelle said Germany would discuss with its partners the next steps on the Iranian nuclear dispute.

Iran had earlier expressed its readiness for continued talks with G5 plus 1 based on its principles, according to Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili.

He added Iran was ready to continue talks with the G5 plus 1 group based on common logic as well as respect for the legitimate rights of other countries enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty.
