Iran plans to dispatch submarines to international waters on a 90-day mission, Tehran Times reported quoting Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari as saying on Saturday.
Sayyari said he told the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution during his recent visit to Bandar Abbas, in southern Iran, that the Navy is ready to send submarines to the international waters on a 90-day mission.
He also pointed to the domestically-manufactured Yunis submarine, which has recently accomplished its 67-day mission to the international waters, saying the submarine set a new record.
The Yunis submarine was dispatched to the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea in order to gather data on those areas
