Russia's Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagharyan jas refuted a report about his visit to the British Embassy on Dec. 1, FARS reported on Friday.
"I was not among the diplomats who visited the British Embassy," Jagharyan said.
The Iranian police did not let ambassadors of 11 countries visit the British Embassy on Dec. 1. Diplomats from Russia, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, New Zealand, Cyprus, Finland, Czech Republic and other countries attempted to visit the embassy, FARS news agency reported earlier.
According to the agency, the police did not allow diplomats to enter the main building of the embassy, asking them seek official permission from the Iranian government.
Last Tuesday, radical-minded Iranian students held a protest action in front of the British Embassy in Tehran, and then broke into the main building of the embassy, tore down the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and set fire on the British flag.
The UN Security Council condemned the attack on the embassy and urged the Iranian government to ensure the safety of diplomats.
