Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei speaking at the public prosecutors' meeting today, slammed country's official structures for poor handing of Iran's drug problems, Mehr reported.

"Drugs collapse country, the young people and the society suffer because of this," Mohseni-Ejei said. "If only anti-drug companies did their job better".

Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Labour and Social Protection Abdullah Emadi said on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse that there are some 2 million of drug addicts in Iran.

Mohseni-Ejei underscored that drug problems in Iran have political aspects, and most of all they influence complete families.

Spokesman noted that anti-drug structures in Iran must work closely with other government bodies for better fighting against drug problems inside the country.

"If this problem is not handled properly, in the future we will all regret it," he underscored.

In March Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar noted that the country must break a new record in anti-narcotic trafficking campaign, including blocking path of narcotics and alkaloids entry to Iran, and campaign against money laundering next year.
