A consignment of fuel, amounting to one million litres, has been exported to Turkmenistan by rail via Iran's Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, the IRNA News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Iran exported some 43 million litres of oil products, including kerosene, jet fuel, diesel oil and gasoline in the past calendar year which ended on March 19.
An official says Iran has set up a private oil export group in an attempt to bypass a European ban on buying Iranian oil.
The ban is part of Western sanctions aimed at pressuring Iran over its nuclear programme.
Hasan Khosrowjerdi, head of the Iranian oil products exporters union said on Monday that the first contract for exporting Iran's crude through the private sector will be signed next week.
The EU accounted for 18 per cent of Iran's total crude exports.
