UN welcomed Iran's invitation of Director General of the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano to inspect the country's nuclear installations, UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs Sergio de Queiroz Duarte said, IRNA reported.
Duarte added that any measure which helps improve confidence in the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities would be appreciated.
He also recalled the UN Secretary General
Ban Ki-moon believes that any measure in the field could help the international community build further confidence in the issue.
Duarte further stated that the invitation was a positive step which would help pave the way for continuation of mutual cooperation.
