Armenia will construct 2 new water reservoirs in Kaps and Wedi, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan said, Armenia Today reported with the reference to the Ministry press service.
It is expected that the project companies will prepare the necessary documents in a year, and within a year competitions for both reservoirs will be announced. The program of reservoir construction in Kaps will be financed by the German Development Bank, in Wedi - The French Development Agency.
According to Gevorgyan, the construction program of Ararat reservoir was approved by Kuwait Development Fund. In the near future a visit of 2 Kuwaiti experts is expected. Afterwards final agreements will be reached. Discussions are carried out on construction of Yeghvard reservoir.
"If everything goes well, in the near future we will be able to commission 4 large water reservoirs, which will significantly improve the situation with irrigation," Deputy Prime Minister noted.
