A female spectator was killed and two others injured on Saturday after a police motorcycle hit them during the 14th stage of the Tour de France, Xinhua reported.
According to the France Info radio, the woman in her 60s was hit by a police motorcycle when she was crossing the road. Police said the driver fell off the bike, which then hit and injured two other roadside spectators, a 37-year-old woman and a man in his 60s. Both of them were hospitalized in Mulhouse.
Event organizers confirmed earlier that the three victims were being treated at the scene by the paramedics.
The accident occurred in the town of Wittelsheim, about 40 km from the start of the stage in Colmar.
