The energy minister says Turkey and Japan could soon reach an agreement over the construction of a nuclear power plant, AP reported.
Taner Yildiz said Wednesday delegations from Turkey and Japan are engaged in "intense" negotiations over the terms of a possible deal to build Turkey's second nuclear reactor.
Turkey has already reached an agreement with Russia over the construction of its first reactor, to be located near the Mediterranean coast. The second power plant is planned near Sinop, on the Black Sea coast.
Yildiz said studies were also ongoing to locate a site for a planned third nuclear power station.
