Turkish cabinet convenes for weekly meeting

( Cihan ) - Turkish Council of Ministers has convened for a regular cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The meeting started at 11.20 a.m. on Monday at the Prime Ministry in Turkish capital Ankara.

Latest developments with respect to the European Union accession talks in addition to draft bills to be discussed in the parliament are the major issues of the agenda of the meeting.

Ministers are expected to brief the cabinet members on 2007 Mevlana Year and EXPO 2015 Fair to be held in Izmir.

Government spokesman and Justice Minister Cemil Cicek has not attended the meeting since he is abroad for a visit.

A press briefing is scheduled following the cabinet meeting.
