Kazakh railways improves revenues

Kazakhstan's national railroad company, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has a profit of 23.51 billion tenge (335.48 tenge = $1) in January-September of 2016 compared to 219.87 billion tenge loss in the same period of 2015, according to the company’s financial statements published on the website of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) Nov. 23.

The company’s assets rose from 2.88 trillion tenges to 2.96 trillion tenges in January-September 2016. Its capital rose from 968.26 billion tenges to 1.05 trillion tenges.

The company’s liabilities decreased from 1.916 trillion tenges to 1.907 trillion tenges during the period.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is the operator of Kazakhstan main railway network which implements passenger and cargo transportation. It is 100- percent owned by the state through National wealth fund Samruk-Kazyna.
