Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 30
By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:
The European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan’s Taxes Ministry have successfully completed the implementation of a joint twinning project on improvement of human resources management, said the country’s Deputy Taxes Minister Sahib Alakbarov.
Alakbarov made the remarks during an event dedicated to the presentation of the project’s results in Baku Nov. 30.
The twinning project’s implementation was carried out jointly with taxes administrations of the EU, France and Spain.
“This project has become a successful part of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s strategy on turning oil capital into human capital,” said Alakbarov. “The Taxes Ministry will continue to study and use international experience in the sphere of human resources management.”
A high level of personnel training and their effective use were reached as a result of the project, added the deputy taxes minister.
He also noted that the Taxes Ministry has been using a new system since 2005 while receiving new employees.
“Over this period, more than 1,200 employees were received on the new system,” said Alakbarov. “Currently, they account for more than half of the ministry’s all employees.”
He added that another important direction of the project’s implementation is the development of electronic services.
The project’s implementation was carried out for 27 months.
