Brent crude futures down by more than 2% as US Presidential vote count underway

The price of Brent crude futures has decreased by over 2 percent as results are coming in from the US presidential election, market data showed, Sputnik reported.

The Brent prices were at $44.89 per barrel as the voting count from the Tuesday elections was underway.

Meanwhile, the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures decreased 3.11 percent to $43.58 per barrel.

According to the CNN count, Republican Donald Trump is currently ahead of his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton with over 49 percent of the votes, against Clinton’s 46.7%.
