Russian Gazprom unlikely to permit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to sell their gas to Europe through its pipelines, Gazprom's Information Department told Trend via e-mail on Thursday.
"It will unlikely to take place," the Information Department said.
Earlier, the Deputy Director General of Kyrgyz gas company "Kyrgyzgaz" Eugene Orlenko said that Gazprom would supply Kazakh and Uzbek gas to Kyrgyzstan, KyrTag reported.
Orlenko said that swap gas supplies operations can be realized in the region, thus Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will be able to sell to Europe the volumes of gas purchased by Gazprom for Kyrgyzstan.
According to Gazprom's Information Department, the issue of gas supplies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan is at the initial stages of development.
Gazprom Open Joint Stock Company is the largest producer of natural gas in the world and the major Russian company. Its major business lines are geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons, as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power. Russian government has a controlling stake in the company
