Uzbekistan’s Angren FEZ to see $300M projects

In 2017, it is planned to implement investment projects worth $300 million in the Angren free economic zone (FEZ) in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, the FEZ management told Trend.

Of this amount, $40.4 million will account for direct foreign investment, said the zone management.

Tax and customs privileges and preferences are offered for 3 to 7 years to enterprises established in the zone, depending on the amount of investment.

In five years, $182.5 million were invested in projects implemented in the Angren free economic zone.

There are three free economic zones in Uzbekistan – the Navoi free economic zone in Navoi region, the Angren free economic zone in Tashkent region, and the Jizzakh free economic zone in central Uzbekistan.

In early 2017, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on creation of Urgut, Gijduvan, Kokand and Khazarasp free economic zones in Bukhara, Samarkand, Fergana and Khorezm regions of Uzbekistan.
