President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has invited the Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to visit Kiev with an unofficial friendly visit July 10 to intensify the political dialogue at the highest level.
"I am confident that this visit will give new impetus to the development and strengthening of the Ukrainian-Turkmen cooperation in many areas of common interest," said in the invitation.
Yanukovych has also expressed his "conviction that the positive experience of partnership and mutual understanding gained by Ukraine and Turkmenistan during the years of joint work will contribute to further development of cooperation."
According to the national broadcaster Altyn Asyr, the invitation was handled to the Turkmen leader by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Konstantin Gryshchenko, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
Berdimuhammadov expressed the "sincere gratitude", stressing that "Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of traditionally friendly relations with Ukraine, which, based on mutual goodwill, now is filled with new content".
The information indicates that the sides exchanged views on cooperation in trade, economy and culture.
