Kazakhstan, Astana, June 7 /Trend D.Mukhtarov/
Kazakh border guard Vladislav Chelakh confessed that he killed his colleagues when they were asleep, the official representative of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Nurdaulet Suindikov said.
"Internal conflicts and clouding of consciousness were the motives of the murder according to Chelakh's confession," Suindikov said.
Suindikov added that Chelakh said he killed his colleagues in the early morning when they were asleep and then set fire to the outpost building.
The guard denies the presence of collaborators and accomplices.
The bodies of 10 out of 14 dead border guards have been identified, the representative of the Attorney General said.
The Border Service found the burned border post at Arkankergen located in the mountains last week. In summer 15 frontier guards serve at this post. 15 corpses were founded at the scene including 14 border guards and a hunter from the nearby hunting ground located near the post. The fifteenth border guard was found alive near the post.
Suindikov said quoting Chelakh that the crime was committed at about 5 o'clock in the morning on May 28, when all the border post, except for the guard was asleep.
Chelakh was on duty at the barracks that night and, accordingly, had access to the arsenal of weapons.
The guard was killed the first.
Then, returning to the barracks, Chelakh shot the rest of his colleagues, nine of whom were still asleep. Huntsman Ruslan Kim was killed last at hunting house.
All the victims of Chelakh were unarmed at the time of killing. In addition, according to Chelakh, some colleagues who were awake did not take it seriously when he turned the weapon on them.
Committing the murder, Chelakh fired the shots from different positions from a machine gun, scattered cartridges all over the barracks, and then, after having poured gasoline, set fire to all the barracks and the economic structure of the post in order to conceal traces of the crime. In a similar manner he set fire on the guard, whose body lay outside the territory of the post.
After all this, he took Makarov gun, some food, personal belongings of a number of colleagues (mobile phones, laptop, money) and fled the scene.
The credibility of Chelakh's confession is checked, while at the same time there are no signs of an attack on a post. All the necessary expert studies are carried out in the frame of the investigation, including psychological examination of Vladislav Chelakh's personality.
To date, experts have identified the bodies of 11 soldiers. The examination excluded the fact of the use of alcoholic beverages by the border guards.
Fire technical expertise established the absence of lesions of the explosion and, consequently, the fact of the use of explosive devices.
In addition Suindikov said a criminal case against the chief of the frontier Sary-Bokter Alexei Fomin was filed.
Fomin was accused of deliberately concealing the fact of lack of communication with border post Arkankergen and failing to establish the causes of loss of communication and its recovery. He was arrested with the approval of the court.
