One hundred people out of each 100,000 have cancer in Iran, and the number of infected men is higher than women, deputy health minister Mahammadali Muhəqqiqi said during a round table discussion on the problems of cancer treatment in Iran which was held in Teheran, ISNA news agency reported.
According to official statistics, 63,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year, 46,000 of whom died, secretary of the National Research Centre for Cancer diseases Zendedel Kazim said at the event.
However the real number is nearer 90-95,000 for diagnosed and 50-55,000 have died.
