SOCAR’s Kulevi oil terminal increases transhipment

The Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR's Black Sea oil terminal in Georgia's Kulevi transhipped in Jan.-Nov. 2015 some 2.15 million tons of oil and chemical products, or 11 percent more than last year, according to a message from the terminal.

Some 51 percent accounted for heavy oil products, 48 percent - light oil products and one percent for propylene of the total volume of the shipped cargo.

Since the third quarter of 2015, the terminal started to receive gasoline and gas oil, carry out loading of liquid pyrolysis resin in tankers directly from the railway tanks. The terminal has already received 23,500 tons of gasoline, 8,250 tons of gas oil and loaded 19,000 tons of liquid pyrolysis resin.

The terminal in Georgia's Kulevi was commissioned in May 2008. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million metric tons of bulk-oil cargo per year. The total capacity of the terminal's tank farm is 320,000 cubic meters with the possibility of reaching 380,000 cubic meters.
