Baku, Azerbaijan, May 30
By Aysham Rustamova - Trend:
Azerbaijan will export lubricating oils to Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UAE, Assistant Director of Ekokat LLC Vagif Jalilov told Trend May 30.
Ekokat LLC is a resident of the Balakhani industrial park and has produced 50 tons of lubricating oils since early 2019, Jalilov noted.
“The annual production capacity at the plant for the recycling of oils is 300 tons,” Jalilov said. “As a result of recycling of motor oils, lubricating oils such as grease, lithol and graphite are produced here. In connection with the export plans, the company aims to bring production up to 500 tons per year, and in this regard, negotiations are underway with Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UAE.”
The assistant director noted that lubricating oils are made from base oils obtained from the recycling of motor oils.
Such products are mainly in demand in agriculture and steel companies, he said.
“The quality of Azerbaijan-made lubricating oils exceeds similar products of Ukrainian and Russian companies,” he added. “Prices are 40 percent lower because they are local products. In addition, our products are heat-resistant, which is considered the main quality indicator.”
Centralized collection and regeneration of recycled oils in all leading countries is of great importance, he said, adding that this question is more relevant, especially because of the growing oil reserves in the world.
He noted that Azerbaijan needs to raise public awareness in this area.
“The raw materials for production include used motor oils,” he said. “Problems with raw materials appear in the winter, because some facilities transfer raw materials to greenhouses located in Gadabay and Shamkir regions of Azerbaijan, and this causes serious damage to the environment. Therefore, there is a need for educational work in this area.”
