Ukraine, Kiev, Jan. 23 / Trend , Z.Novosvitski/
The Ukrainian Parliament has received all necessary documents to hold an extraordinary meeting to consider the activities of the National Bank of Ukraine. The meeting was initiated by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and the BYT faction, Ukrainian Parliament Vice-Speaker Mykola Tomenko said at a news conference on Jan. 23.
All the necessary
documents have been submitted to the Parliament yesterday. Speaker Volodymyr
Lytvyn handed them out to the relevant committees and the faction leaders for
consideration, he said.
"I can't predict whether the meeting will take place or not, because everything
will depend on the position of the faction leaders," said Tomenko.
Even if the meeting is not held, the activities of the National Bank will be among
the top issues to be considered during the first week of the fourth session, he
said.
Yesterday, BYT representatives said they had collected 150 signatures to hold
an extraordinary parliamentary meeting to discuss the work of the National Bank
of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Parliament is experiencing an inter-session period. The MPs are working
in committees and constituencies.
