The Uzbek Foreign Minister
Vladimir Norov and German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle discussed the situation in Kyrgyzstan in a telephone conversation, a source in the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
The sides emphasized their concern about the tense political and humanitarian situation in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
Guido Westerwelle stressed that the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border should be open to refugees and humanitarian aid. He also thanked Uzbekistan for its efforts to resolve the alarming humanitarian situation.
