Holding Eurovision-2012 song contest in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku has become a very important event for the country from political, economic and international points of view.
By hosting Eurovision song contest, Azerbaijan has once again demonstrated that it is ready for hosing great events of international importance and has been holding them successfully," Deputy Executive Secretary of ruling New Azerbaijan Party Mubariz Gurbanli told Trend today.
Stressing the high level of preparation for Eurovision song contest, he said that these operations, carried out under time, have demonstrated Azerbaijan's potential.
"Organizing, holding the contest, bringing it to the world media's attention, meeting the guests arriving in Azerbaijan for the contest, ensuring favorable conditions for the contest participants were highly appreciated by those who arrived in Azerbaijan," he said.
Eurovision-2012 song contest in Azerbaijan differs from the previous ones by grandiosity.
"The guests and contest participants were able to observe this grandiosity by the example of Baku, Azerbaijan's development," he said.
"The unique performance of Azerbaijani music in this contest pleasantly surprised Azerbaijani spectators," he said. "This contest and its results are the pride for Azerbaijan. They are important from the viewpoint of promoting Azerbaijani culture."
