The Caspian littoral countries have very large energy resources, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told Trend in Istanbul.
"These countries use these sources and have different opportunities to deliver them to the global market within their sovereign rights," Khalafov said.
He said that the international cooperation existing in the Caspian region creates an opportunity for conducting new operations and implementing new projects in this area.
"The passed period, the conducted work and ongoing projects show that the Caspian region will remain an important center for ensuring energy security in the world," he said. "The fact that brotherly and friendly Turkey has taken one of central positions in this cooperation increases our opportunities. New strategic projects that will be implemented with the participation of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, will serve the development of the region, increase the social welfare and energy security of the world and Europe."
