A group of Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society representatives will visit the Zardab region May 12.
The purpose of the visit is to provide humanitarian assistance to disaster victims.
The society has decided to work on assessing the amount of humanitarian assistance to be provided to people affected by floods caused by high water levels in the Kur River.
The Kur River overflowed its banks as a result of incessant rains. The country's 40 regions showed record floods. As a result of the disaster, about 20,000 homes were flooded, more than 300 were destroyed, 2,000 are in emergency condition and 50,000 hectares of cultivated land have come under water.
