Departments of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Office will be established in foreign countries, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov said during a meeting of representatives of the government and diaspora organizations.
He said that such recommendation is contained in the order by the Azerbaijani President regarding coming into force of amendments to the Law on Freedom of Religion.
He said all financial matters related to the opening of overseas department of Caucasus Muslims Clerical Office will be covered by the Azerbaijani government.
"This shows that the state cares about Azerbaijanis living abroad," said Orujev.
Speaking at the meeting, Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova said that Azerbaijan is among the leading countries in protecting human rights.
Suleymanova advised members of the diaspora living abroad to study the issue of their rights and freedoms.
"The representatives of the diaspora must be aware of their rights and freedoms that they can demand this from the country in which they live," said the Ombudsman.
