The Azerbaijani low-cost airline Buta Airways performed the first Baku-Odessa flight on May 16, Trend reports.
The ceremony dedicated to the first flight was organized at the Odessa airport.
“The new flight is expected to be in great demand,” Representative of the Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC in Ukraine Yashar Amirov said at the ceremony. “There are enough entrepreneurs in both cities who will use this flight. As a result, the investments will be made into the economies of both countries.”
“The bilateral tourist flow will also grow,” he said. “The flight to Odessa is the third destination operated by the low-cost airline in Ukraine. Buta Airways has been already operating regular flights to Kiev and Kharkov.”
“Buta Airways is considering the possibility of launching other air routes in Ukraine,” Amirov added.
“The new Baku-Odessa flight will serve to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and promote the economic and cultural development,” Director of the Odessa Culture and Tourism Department Tatyana Makarova, Marketing and Commercial Director of the Odessa International Airport Vyacheslav Cheglatonev and Representative of Tourism Directorate of Recreation and Resorts of the Odessa Regional State Administration Alexander Sheka, said.
The minimum price of the one-way ticket is 29 euros.
Air tickets are available on the official website of the airline upon the “Budget” and “Standard” tariffs, as well as at sales offices upon the “Super” tariff.
According to the “Budget” minimum tariff, additional services such as transportation of baggage and hand luggage, hot meals on board, check-in at the airport, and the choice of the best airplane seat are offered as paid options.
The “Super” tariff includes baggage (up to 23 kg), hand luggage (up to 10 kg) and free check-in at the airport. The air tickets are available at sales offices.
