PARIS, France, August 6. Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Sanan Suleymanov has scored another victory at the Summer Olympics in Paris and reached the semifinals of the competition, Trend reports.
The athlete, competing in the weight category up to 77 kg, met with the representative of Hungary, Zoltan Levai, in the 1/4 finals.
The Azerbaijani athlete defeated the opponent and advanced to the semifinal stage of the competition. Tonight, he will meet Demeu Zhadrayev, who represents Kazakhstan.
In the 1/8 finals, Suleymanov defeated the representative of Bulgaria, Aik Mnatsakanian, with a 2:0 score.
To note, the Paris Summer Olympics will conclude on August 11. Azerbaijani judokas Hidayat Heydarov and Zelym Kotsoiev have already secured victories. Additionally, boxer Alfonso Dominguez has guaranteed at least a silver medal by advancing to the final, scheduled for 00:34 (GMT+4) on the night of August 9–10.
