BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Azerbaijani SOCAR Polymer increased its exports of products by 4.7 percent from January through May 2022 compared to the same period last year, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan told Trend.
SOCAR Polymer became one of the leaders of public sector of Azerbaijan in terms of exports. Exports of the company's products amounted to $70.4 million during reported period, which is $3.2 million more than in the same period in 2021.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).
The PP and HDPE plants were put into operations in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
