BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Slovenian companies are planning to visit Azerbaijan to explore areas of investment, and to increase economic cooperation with the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia told Trend.

“Our companies can offer their excellent high-tech products and solutions in different areas, especially in the field of energy and energy efficiency, including the renovation of small hydropower plants, or the installation of solar power plants,” the ministry said.

According to the source, Slovenian businesses are also interested in participation in the reconstruction works in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh [liberated from Armenian occupation in 2020].

Slovenia sees such economy areas as green technologies and recycling, renewable energy sources, telecommunication and ICT, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, construction and engineering as perspective in expanding bilateral economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, the ministry noted.

“The Slovenian-Azerbaijani Business Council, established in 2016, as well as the Slovenian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society in Slovenia’s Nova Gorica town can also make a significant contribution to fostering mutual cooperation,” the source added.
