BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. The majority of settlements in Azerbaijan's trade turnover were made in freely convertible currency from January through October 2022, Trend reports on November 19 via the State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the settlements in freely convertible currency for export operations increased by $5.7 billion (59.27 percent) year-on-year - from $9.6 billion to $15.3 billion (44.19 percent of all types of export settlements).

The settlements in freely convertible currency on import operations increased by $2.16 billion (27.57 percent), exceeding $10 billion (86.52 percent of all types of import settlements) against $7.8 billion the previous year.

As of the beginning of November, settlements in Azerbaijani manat for Azerbaijan's export operations increased from $28.3 million to $120.58 million (by 4.24 times) year-on-year. In import operations, this indicator has decreased by 1.31 percent over the year to $36.3 million against $44.4 million.

The amount of other export transactions increased by $12 billion (2.67 times) - to $19.2 billion ($7.17 billion for the same period last year). The share of other export transactions amounted to 55.36 percent of all types of settlements against 42.57 percent from January through October 2021.

For import operations in this category, a decline of $220.26 million (29.53 percent) was recorded – from $745.8 million to $525.5 million. The share of such transactions in all types of import settlements amounted to 4.53 percent.

Exports in Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through October 2022 amounted to $34.7 billion, and imports – $11.58 billion.
