BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The volume of cargo transshipment via the Turkish Izmir port from January through October 2022 exceeded 5.7 million tons, Trend report via TurkicWorld.
In the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 278,221 tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – more than 5.4 million tons via the Izmir port.
"The Turkish port of Izmir transshipped 4,793 tons of transit cargo from January through October 2022," said the ministry.
More than 330 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the ports of Turkiye.
During the mentioned period, vessels flying the Turkish flag transshipped 23 million tons of cargo.
The volume of cargo transshipped by the vessels flying the flags of other countries totaled 307 million tons.
Moreover, from January to October 2022, the Turkish ports transshipped 66 million tons of transit cargo.
