South Korean Hwachon Plant Construction Company is preparing to start building a cement plant in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Bakhitzhan Habibullayev, deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan's Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, held talks with Sin Cheol Sik, chairman of Hwachon Plant Construction, via videoconference.
During the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of early commencement of practical implementation of the project on construction of a cement plant in the Karauzyak region worth $380 million. In particular, the issue of financing the project, which envisages stage-by-stage attraction of funds and technologies, was discussed in detail.
Sin Cheol Sik expressed his willingness to visit Karakalpakstan in the near future to take measures necessary to start the project. He expressed hope for a speedy resolution of the coronavirus pandemic crisis and resumption of regular flights between Uzbekistan and South Korea, the message said.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue discussions and organize talks via videoconferences.
Hwachon Plant Construction Co. Ltd. is a South Korean company with a head office in Seoul. The company operates in the specialty trade contractors' industry.
