Business people of Lithuania, who arrived in Baku as part of the delegation headed by the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Irena Degutene, visited the enterprises which are part of
Sumgait Techno Park, the Ministry of Economic Development said.
The guests got familiarized with the activities of factories, workshops and production lines manufacturing products for the electricity sector. The delegation was informed that the Techno Park is implementing new infrastructure projects. Today the Techno Park includes nine factories, and another plant of accurate processing centers will soon be put into operation, and the construction of eight more plants continues.
Today, the enterprises employ about 1,000 people, and after putting into operation all plants the number of jobs will increase to 3,000. The Techno Park manufactures engineering products intended for export based on modern technology. This Techno Park consists of 30 shops and factories and is aimed at the production of cables, transformers, high voltage equipment, turbines, water pumps, motors and pipes.
