Volume of investments per capita hits $4,800 in Mangistau region

The volume of investments in main capital per capita is $4,800 in Mangistau region, Governor of Mangistau region of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbayev said in an interview with Trend on Thursday.

"We rank second among the regions of the republic in terms of investments in main capital per capita. It is about $4,800", he said.

He said that the gross regional product per capita is $17,000, the average wage in the area - $ 1,000. The region produces more than 16 percent of industrial production of the country.

"The stable economic base of the area is annually confirmed by the international rating agency Fitch," he said. "It raised the international rating of the area twice in 2008. It confirmed it on the previous stable levels in 2009 and 2010."
