In 2013, Turkey is investing 1.5 billion lira in environmental projects, Sabah newspaper reported.

The project considers provision of 21 provinces of Turkey with 332 waste collection vehicles and over 400 units of equipment for debris removal.

In addition, it is planned to construct several wastewater treatment plants in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

Alongside, within the framework of investments projects on upgrading the sewerage infrastructure in 2200 districts of the country will be implemented. about 39 sensors for measuring air quality will be installed in provinces such as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Istanbul, Balıkesir, Yalova and others.
