Agricultural product prices increase in Kazakhstan

The crop production sold by agricultural enterprises increased by 3.9 per cent and cattle breeding products by 2.1 per cent in Kazakhstan in March compared to December 2012, the Statistics Agency said on Monday.

According to the agency, barley prices increased by 6.3 per cent, oats by 5.1 per cent, wheat by 4.1 per cent, corn by 3.6 per cent, millet by 0.7 per cent, rice by 0.5 per cent, rye by 0.4 per cent and buckwheat decreased by 0.2 per cent in January-March.

Cabbage increased by 8.5 per cent, beet by 5.2 per cent, carrots by 3.2 per cent, onions 2.6 per cent, potatoes by 2.8 per cent, sunflower seeds 3.3 per cent and peas by 2.7 per cent.

Prices on mutton increased by 1.8 per cent, cattle by 1.5 per cent, horses by 1.3 per cent, poultry by 0.1 per cent whilst pork decreased by 0.9 per cent. Egg prices increased by 5.7 per cent, raw milk by 2.5 per cent and wool by 0.5 per cent.
