The trade turnover between Ukraine and Uzbekistan in 2017 amounted to $303.9 million and increased by 36.3 percent compared to 2016, Uzbek media reported referring to Ukrainian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yuri Savchenko.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, while the export of goods and services from Ukraine to Uzbekistan amounted to $176.1 million and increased by 19.1 percent, imports of Uzbek goods and services to Ukraine amounted to $127.8 million and increased by 70.2 percent.
Ukraine mainly exported to Uzbekistan pharmaceutical products , which made up 31.2 percent of the total figure (the volume of supplies increased by 10.8 percent and amounted to $52.1 million).
The second place is accounted for black metal products - 14 percent ($ 23.3 million), and the third - nuclear fuel for the reactor 10.4 percent ($ 17.3 million).
The main share of exports from Uzbekistan to Ukraine accounted for fertilizers, the volume of which increased by 6.8 times and amounted to $32.5 million. The increase was observed in the supply of zinc and its products ($ 3 million).
During the same period, the volume of trade in services amounted to $14.1 million and increased compared to 2016 by 49.1 percent, while the export of services from Ukraine to Uzbekistan amounted to $9 million and increased by 62.8 percent , while imports of Uzbek services to Ukraine amounted to $5.1 million and increased by 30.0 percent.
In 2017, Uzbekistan ranked 51st in terms of Uzbekistan's trade partners and 6th among the country's partners among the CIS countries.
