Azerbaijani company to implement road project in Kyrgyzstan (Exclusive)

Azerbaijani company AzVIRT will launch a project to build roads in Kyrgyzstan next year, leading specialist of the company Gulumsar Orujova told Trend.

She said the company will implement a major road project in Osh, and the opening of a branch of AzVIRT is also expected there.

“Preparation to start the implementation of this project is underway; the corresponding machinery and equipment are being delivered,” Orujova said. “All our equipment, as well as construction materials were purchased in Germany. We intend to invite leading experts from Germany to participate in the project.”

She noted that AzVIRT is one of the well-known road construction contractors in Azerbaijan and is engaged in the construction of roads, runways and airports.

“Last year, we completed the reconstruction of the Mingachevir-Bahramtepe highway, which was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and we also built the circuit for the Formula 1 Grand Prix 2016,” she said. “In 2015, roads were commissioned as part of the 'White City' project - in particular, an eight-lane highway, underground pedestrian crossings were commissioned. The company built the Baku International Airport as well as the Olympic Stadium.”

She added that the company is also engaged in the production of building materials, including asphalt-concrete mixtures, fractional rubble and activated mineral powder.
