Another new international direct flight between Uzbekistan and Egypt has opened, Trend reports with reference to the State Committee on Tourism of Uzbekistan.

The first flight from Tashkent to Sharm El Sheikh will be held on June 12, 2019. All flights will be operated by Egyptian AlMasriya Universal Airlines once a week every Wednesday on modern Airbus-320 airplanes.

State Committee for Tourism notes that the launch of this passenger regular flight contributes to the further development of the tourism industry and the exchange of cultural values between residents of the two countries.

AlMasriya Universal Airlines is a private Egyptian airline founded in 2008. It performs flights from Egypt to Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

In September last year, during the visit of the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to Uzbekistan, the sides discussed the possibility of opening several direct flights at once, between Tashkent, Cairo and Hurghada.

Recently Trend reported that Uzbekistan Airlines will carry out the first flight of the Tashkent-Tbilisi route on July 16. Flights will be operated twice a week in the summer season: on Tuesday and Sunday.

From March 11, Flydubai airline began operating flights between Dubai and Tashkent. From May 31 flights will be operated daily. Flights in the new direction are carried out on Boeing 737 MAX 8 airplanes from terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport as part of a code-sharing agreement with Emirates.
