Turkmenistan working to increase volume of textile exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 10

Turkmenistan is working to saturate the domestic market with textile products, increase the volume of exports of domestic textiles, study and organize sales markets, and take measures to develop foreign economic relations and marketing, Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan Resul Rejepov said, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

Rejepov also noted that the country has organized the manufacture of products on orders, expanding the range and increasing the volume of production of goods.

One of the textile exporters in Turkmenistan is the Ashgabat Textile Complex, which provides the country's domestic markets with textile products, producing a variety of export-oriented goods.

The products of the textile complex are manufactured under ADT, Goza and Wada trademarks, said the specialist of textile complex Azatdurdy Berjanov.

Turkmenistan's textile products are exported to more than 30 countries, including developed countries such as the US, Great Britain, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Turkmenistan annually grows more than one million tons of cotton, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile industry.

A significant part of Turkmenistan's products exported abroad are home textiles, sports and denim clothing. The textile industry of Turkmenistan includes more than 70 textile and clothing enterprises.
