Georgian subsidiary of Jacobs Douwe Egberts reveals revenue data

According to the audit report of the Georgian subsidiary Jacobs Douwe Egberts, the company's revenues in the Georgian market in 2019 amounted to 30.47 million lari ($9.3 million), which is 0.15 percent of global sales, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The net profit of Jacobs Douwe Egberts for the year amounted to 7.65 million lari ($2.3 million).

The company provided the following statistics:

- Instant coffee - sales proceeds 20.29 million lari ($6.1 million), cost of sale (10.18 million lari ($3.1 million));
- Instant coffee with additives - sales proceeds of 8.84 million lari ($2.6 million), cost of sale (5.47 million lari ($1.6 million));
- Ground coffee - proceeds from the sale of 1.27 million lari ($387,839), cost of sale (978,223 lari ($298,735));
- Roasted coffee beans - sales proceeds 37,507 lari ($11,454), cost of sale (25,499 lari ($7,787)).

The instant coffee business is the most profitable segment for the manufacturer.

On June 12, 2017, the company changed its name from Jacobs Georgia Ltd and continues to operate under the name Jacobs Da Egberts Georgia Ltd. The main activity of the company is import of JDE brands and local distribution. The company is responsible for local sales and marketing, planning and conducting various marketing activities aimed at promoting the brand, increasing product awareness in the market and stimulating further sales.
