Incident in Moscow Airport Had No Impact on Flights to Baku

The closure of the Moscow Airport of Vnukovo in the afternoon had no impact on the activity of the airlines flying to Baku and vice-versa, a source in State Concern AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines) informed Trend.

No airplane that belongs to Azerbaijan Airlines is currently flying to this Airport. Airplanes flying from Azerbaijan are landing in the Moscow Airports of Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. The flights to the Russian capital are conducted by Azerbaijani Airlines and Russian Aeroflot. Airport Vnukovo has been closed both to take-off and touch-down due to an aviation incident occurred. According to the information spread by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, at 16:50 local Moscow time, an Airbus-310 attached to Flight #8991 Moscow-Berlin fell down during the take-off in the Airport of Vnukovo. Only the crew was allegedly on the board. No information about the destiny of the crew has been reported.

According to the airlines schedule, this flight is conducted by an air company, German Wings.
