Georgia Suspends Electric Energy Supplies to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Azerbaijan and Georgia suspended electric energy exchange as Georgian energy system commenced parallel work with Russia, the Vice-President of Azerenerji JSC, Marlen Askarov, said.

According to him, Azerbaijan's liabilities for the energy supplied from Georgia makes up some 20mln KW/hour. Presently, Georgia does not supply electric energy to Azerbaijan.

Export of electric energy from Georgia to Azerbaijan was caused by seasonal energy surplus in Georgia. The energy was exported on the basis of the agreement signed on 29 November 2007.
