Aliyev / In 2008, on the basis of its contract with Siemens Bakielektrikshabaka OJSC (Baku electricity network) intends to launch the project to create a round electricity supply system in Baku, the head of the Bakielektrikshabaka Baba Rzayev said at a press conference on 8 February.
According to Rzayev, the project envisages the construction of a110KW-electricity mains to link the Bayil district and the Baku Heat and Power Plant-1. The mains will run through the National Seashore Park. Two up-to-date substations will be constructed within the framework of the project, and they will be fitted out with the most advanced electric equipment. One large substation will be reconstructed.
Along with other coastal cities Baku had difficulties with the establishment of a round system of energy supply, for a part of the city is littoral. But after implementation of the project the issue will be solved, Rzayev said.
The funds intended for implementation of the project will be allocated from the public budget and from the budget of Bakielektrikshabaka. This year the public budget will allot AZN 70mln for development, rehabilitation and re-construction of the Baku electricity distributing networks, and AZN 40-50mln will be allocated by Bakielektrikshabaka. In 2007, the public budget allocated AZN 57mln and Bakielektrikshabaka some AZN 44mln for this purpose, Rzayev said.
Furthermore, electricity distributing networks in new settlements in Baku will be established through investments.
